All students at Walnut Trails will complete fitness tests three time throughout the year (September, January, and May). As with all Minooka 201 schools, we use the FitnessGram physical fitness assessment in our physical education classes. FitnessGram assesses five areas of physical fitness: aerobic capacity, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, and body composition.
The fitness tests are given to the first and second grade students simply for educational purposes. Fitness scores are not recorded at these levels. Learning correct testing form and experiencing how the tests are administered are the main objectives for our younger learners.
